U-INSPIRE Huaxia has responded by convening 51 volunteers among college students to spread any possible support and reflection through the Internet. This effort was done from August 1st until 15th, 2021. It was divided into three teams: Review Team, Science Popularization Team, and Follow-up Team.

In the Review Team, fifteen volunteers helped collect information about Henan floods from mainstream media, write essays, and share the article through social media platforms such as ‘Zhihu’ and ‘Wechat’. The articles highlighted the causes and impacts of Henan floods, the utilization of technology in disaster management and the response of rescue teams and societies’ roles, including the government and corporate organizations.

For Science Popularization Team, the volunteers were in charge of research related to floods and rainstorms, including prompt factors of disasters, disaster escaping skills, basic medical knowledge, and others. This team then compiled the information and summarized it into few articles before publishing it to create more awareness in society.

The Follow-up Team volunteered to investigate multiple information related to the flood and rainstorm and the affected areas through ‘Wechat’ posts, with as frequent as one post every two days, which brings the total of 7 posts.
